Dear Hamiltons et. al.
We've got reservations for 10 adjacent campsites for Aug. 4-11 at the Santa Cruz KOA. Here's some info on the campground and Santa Cruz area. (sent out in packet)
Tom and I spent Saturday, March 17, casing the joint. We've reserved sites 70-79.
The campgroundisn't as pretty as the state parks we've used in the past. It's several miles west of Hwy. 1, in a rural area. The pool is small (no matter what they tell you). It has a hot tub. It's far enough off the road that traffic noise won't be a problem. The beach is a short drive or a long hike.
Nearby state parks are nice, but they only assign spaces on arrival, so we wouldn't get to camp together.
If you want a cabin instead of tent or trailer camping, there are some cabins right across the street from our sites. Reserve early and let me know so I can drop your tent site.
Our sites are going to be "hard packed" by August, according to the manager, so think about camping cots, air mattresses, and other extra cushioning. The Santa Cruz area itself has so much to do that we won't be able to scratch the surface in just a week.

Howdy, Happy Campers!
Gary and I are planning another near-shore, rock-fish and lingcod fishing trip this year. (Leave shor at about 7am and return at about 2pm.) We would like to know who would be interested in going so we can make reservations. The pricing is a little different than it was in Oregon trip (weekdays)- about $40/adult, $30/child, rod rental- about $10 each, tackle-from $5 to $8, one-day fishing license- $7 for anyone 16 or over.
We are going to try to get reservations for Monday so we have plenty of time to eat the catch during the rest of the week. I will be making the reservation this Saturday, so please let me know by then.
Happy fishing, Mary
